Old School Script is a joint effort by Kris Lyle and Chris Fresch. We began our undergraduates at Houston Baptist University where we fell in love with the Biblical Languages. Although we live on different continents we continue to explore the Biblical Languages and Linguistics together.

Chris Fresch

Academic Profile: PhD in Divinity from the University of Cambridge (2015); MA in Biblical Languages from Houston Baptist University (2011); BA in Philosophy and Christianity (double major) from Houston Baptist University (2009)

Chris taught Koine Greek at the University of Cambridge as an affiliated lecturer and is currently Lecturer in Biblical Languages and Old Testament at Bible College of South Australia. 

Research Interests: Greek and Hebrew linguistics, Discourse Markers, Discourse Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis, Cognitive Linguistics, Construction Grammar, Information Structure, Relevance Theory, Linguistic Typology, Grammaticalization, Septuagint Translation Technique

Hobbies: Video Games, Books, Guitar.

Kris Lyle

Academic Profile: PhD (ABD) in Biblical Languages from the University of Stellenbosch; MA in Biblical Languages from the University of Stellenbosch (2012); BA in Biblical Languages & Sociology (double major) from Houston Baptist University (2009)

Kris is currently a Content Writer / Editor for Faithlife (makers of Logos Bible Software) in the department of Content Innovation. 

Research Interests: (Corpus-Driven) Cognitive Semantics, Information Structure, Prepositions, Embodied Cognition, Discourse Analysis, Grammaticalization, ANE conceptions of the sacred/holy
